End of Year Event
Criminal Justice Studies Graduation Picnic!

The event is free and open to all Fall 2010, Spring 2011 and Summer 2011 graduates and their families & friends. Please RSVP to cj@sfsu.edu with the graduate’s name and number of guests no later than Friday, April 29th. We need to get a count of how many people will be attending so we can plan accordingly.
Program
There will be a short presentation early in the afternoon, so please try to arrive by 2:00. After that, the time is yours to mingle with fellow students and professors from the department.
Dress Code & What to Bring
The event is very informal; caps & gowns are not needed. Because the weather in Golden Gate Park can be cool at this time of year, you may want to bring layers and blankets. Even if the forecast looks sunny and warm, we could still end up in the fog. There is very limited picnic table space so feel free to bring blankets and lawn chairs to sit on. Also any safe and fun outdoor activities/games (frisbees, soccer balls, musical instruments, etc.) are welcome.
Food & Drinks
The CJ Department will provide nominal food and beverages. Since we will be in the park, you are welcome and encouraged to bring anything you want to eat or drink for your family & friends. Beer and wine are welcome in the park but only in the picnic area, liquor is not allowed. We only ask that you clean up whatever you bring in with you. Trash, recycling, and compost bins will be provided.
Location & Directions
Speedway Meadow is in the middle of Golden Gate Park stretching east to west from about 25th Avenue to 36th Avenue. It is located along JFK Drive, west of Crossover/Transverse Drive in Golden Gate Park. We have reserved the area around tables 1-6, which is the far eastern end of the meadow - on this map it is marked by a picnic table and restroom symbol. Please note that JFK Drive is closed on Sundays from Transverse Drive to McLaren Lodge. Parking will be tight so public transportation is recommended.
On BART/Muni: Take BART to the Montgomery Street Station and exit to Montgomery Street. At Market and Montgomery, take the MUNI Bus #5 (Fulton) and get off at the 25th Avenue stop (about 25 minutes). Walk one block west on Fulton and cross the street at the 26th Avenue crosswalk into Golden Gate Park. Take the footpath at 26th Avenue into the park. At the end of footpath, turn left on John F. Kennedy Drive. Speedway Meadow will be on your right, just before 25th Avenue. From the Sunset or Richmond Districts, the San Francisco MUNI Bus #29 (Sunset) goes directly to 25th and Fulton.
